Sengoku Basara' Spin-off 'Gakuen Basara' Gets TV Anime


An official website has been opened by TBS to announce that Gakuen Basara, a school spin-off of Capcom's Sengoku Basara franchise will get a TV anime. A teaser visual (pictured), staff, and reprising cast have also been revealed.

Kazuya Nakai and Soichiro Hoshi will reprise their roles as Masamune Date and Yukimura Sanada, respectively.

Sengoku Basara is a video game that was first published by Capcom on PlayStation 2 in 2005. The series has four main titles that were released on different generations for the PlayStation, with the latest game Sengoku Basara 4 released in 2014 for PlayStation 3. The game inspired three TV anime adaptations, several special episodes, and a movie. Production I.G animated most of the adaptations, while Sengoku Basara: Judge End was produced by Telecom Animation Film. The first three games also inspired several manga series by different authors.
