Enen no Shouboutai: Ni no Shou' Unveils New Staff, Cast, Promo [Update 5/29]


The official website of the Enen no Shouboutai (Fire Force) television anime revealed new staff, cast, key visual (pictured), and the first promotional video for the second season, Enen no Shouboutai: Ni no Shou, on Friday. The new season is set to air in July 2020.

Tatsuma Minamikawa (Nami yo Kiitekure) is both directing and handling the series composition in the second season, replacing Yuki Yase (Mekakucity Actors) and Gakuto Haishima, respectively.

Yumenosuke Tokuda (Vatican Kiseki Chousakan) is joining Yoshio Kosakai (Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online) and Morioka Hideyuki (Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei) as a chief animation director. Neito Hirohara will serve alongside Hiroyuki Ookaji (Kekkai Sensen & Beyond key animation) and Tsutomu Matsuura (Fate/Extra: Last Encore) as a main animator.

Kazunori Miyazato (Shinchou Yuusha: Kono Yuusha ga Ore Tsueee Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru) will join Yoshito Takamine (Akame ga Kill!) as an art director. Shinya Takano (Fate/Extra Last Encore) is replacing Kusaka Daisuke (Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata) as the CG director. Rest of the production staff will return at David Production from the first season.

Voice actress Miyuri Shimabukuro (Granbelm) is joining the cast as Kasugatani Inca. J-pop singer Aimer (Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works 2nd Season) will perform the new season's opening theme song "SPARK-AGAIN."

The anime series adapts Atsushi Ookubo's action sci-fi manga, which has been serialized in Weekly Shounen Magazine since September 2015. Kodansha shipped the 23rd volume on May 15.

The first anime season aired in 24 episodes in Summer 2019. Crunchyroll simulcast the show with subtitles, while Funimation streamed an English dub. The latter released the first 12 episodes on home video on March 31. Kodansha Comics licensed the manga in English in 2016 and published the18th volume on March 24.

The official Twitter account for the TV anime revealed that Cider Girl will perform the anime's ending theme song. Additionally, Makoto Furukawa will voice Ogun Montgomery, a third-generation pyrokinetic from Special Fire Force Company 4. His character PV was also released.
