Manga 'Tensai Bakabon' Receives New TV Anime Adaptation


In commemoration of the series' 50th anniversary, an official website opened for a new TV anime adaptation of Fujio Akatsuka's Tensai Bakabon (The Genius Bakabon) manga on Tuesday. Titled Shinya! Tensai Bakabon, the fifth anime series in the franchise, will air in a late-night time slot in Summer 2018.

Tensai Bakabon ran for 38 volumes in Weekly Shounen Magazine between 1967 and 1992. The series revolves around the comedic shenanigans that happens in Bakabon's household. The manga inspired four TV anime adaptations: the earlier series were produced by Tokyo Movie Shinsha in the 70s, while the later 90s adaptations were produced by Studio Pierrot.
