Bikini Warriors' Receives Second OVA Series [Update 3/29]

Publishing company Hobby Japan has announced a second OVA for the Bikini Warriors franchise. The official website also revealed a pair of new characters and staff members on Friday.

Illustrators AKIRA and Akazawa Red designed the characters Black Knight and Necromancer, respectively.

Most of the staff members are reprising from the TV anime, however, animator Shinichi Tatsuta (Tsuki ga Kirei key animation) will serve as a character designer along with Kousuke Murayama (Getsuyoubi no Tawawa director). Atsushi Kanou (Campione!: Matsurowanu Kamigami to Kamigoroshi no Maou 2nd key animation) and Rumi Maruyama (Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai. assistant editor) will replace the previous director of photography and editor Akio Hayashi and Daisuke Hiraki, respectively.

The new OVA project will be released on July 27 with two new episodes titled "Yuusha ni wa Tsune ni Rifujin na Event ga Tsukimatou Mono desu" and "Bikini of the Dead." The release will also contain a "hyper sexy edition" of the last six episodes of the TV anime, similar to the previous release.

Bikini Warriors is a figure collaboration between Hobby Japan and Megahouse. The figure line received a 12-episode short TV anime in Summer 2015, a special episode bundled with the Blu-ray volume in December 2015, as well as two OVA episodes in a separate Blu-ray and DVD volume in December 2016; all produced by studio feel. The series features original character designs by various artists, such as Hisasi, Tony Taka, and saitom.

Funimation licensed the anime series for North American distribution and released it in a Blu-ray and DVD volume with an English dub in December 2016.
