Overlord' Compilation Movie to Premiere in Two Parts

Along with the staff and cast announcement of Youjo Senki, the joint conference also announced on Thursday that the Overlord compilation movie will be split into two parts that will contain new scenes.

Titled after the first two volumes of the light novel, the first and second movie Overlord: Fushisha no Ou (Overlord: The Undead King) and Overlord: Shikkoku no Eiyuu (Overlord: The Dark Warrior) will premiere on February 25 and March 11 next year, respectively. The official website revealed a key visual for the first movie (pictured) illustrated by so-bin, the original character designer of the series.

Musical duo MYTH & ROID, the ending theme artist of the TV series, will return to perform the theme songs for the compilation movies.

The movies will be screened at Kadokawa Cinema Shinjuku theater and Ikebukuro Cinema Rosa in Tokyo, among other theaters across Japan. Advance tickets for the first movie will go on sale on December 3 while limited supplies last.

Written by Kugane Maruyama, Overlord was initially serialized as a web novel in September 2010. The novel began publishing under Kadokawa's Enterbrain label in July 2012. A manga adaptation drawn by Fugin Miyama has been serialized on the Comp Ace magazine since November 2014.

The light novel received a 13-episode TV anime adaptation by Madhouse in Summer 2015.
