An official website has opened for an anime movie adaptation of the manga series Koukaku no Pandora: Ghost Urn, which is written by Masamune Shirow (Ghost in the Shell) and illustrated by Koshi Rikudo (Excel Saga).
The manga began serialization in the November 2012 issue of Newtype Ace magazine before moving to Kadokawa Niconico Ace the following year. There are six volumes in print, and Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the series for publication in North America.
Koukaku no Pandora will open on December 5, 2015, for two-week screenings at Kadokawa Cinema Shinjuku in Tokyo, Fushimi Million-za in Nagoya, and Umeda Burg 7 in Osaka.
Synopsis
In an age when large-scale natural disasters frequently happen all over the world, when cyborgs and autonomous robots are beginning to appear on the market in technologically advanced nations, and major world powers compete for technology and resources, the divide between rich and poor grows and the future for the poor looks bleak. In this transitional stage, everyone wanders around in a self-indulgent daze and the way out isn't clear... This is the story of how two cybernetically enhanced girls meet. (Source: MU)
