The official website for the television anime adaptation of Kumiko Saiki's Kageki Shoujo! manga announced on Tuesday seven additional cast members and a character promo. The anime series is scheduled to premiere on July 4 at 12:00 a.m. on AT-X, followed by Tokyo MX, BS11, and HTB.

Kazuhiro Yoneda (Gleipnir) is helming the anime at animation studio Pine Jam. Tadashi Morishita (Akatsuki no Yona script) is handling the series composition, and Takahiro Kishida (Haikyuu!!) is designing the characters. Tsuneyoshi Saitou (Dennou Coil) is composing the music.
The original ensemble drama manga began in Jump X magazine in May 2012 and ended in October 2014 due to the magazine ceasing serialization. Saiki began drawing a sequel manga in Melody magazine in February 2015. Hakusensha published the tenth volume last November.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English last April and plans to ship the first volume of the sequel on July 6.
