Blade Runner: Black Lotus' Unveils Cast Members



Adult Swim and Crunchyroll announced cast members for the Blade Runner: Black Lotus anime series on Wednesday. The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2021 with an English dub on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block, and will stream with English subtitles on Crunchyroll.

Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) and Shinji Aramaki (Ultraman) are helming the anime at Sola Digital Arts. Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop director, script) is credited as a creative producer.

The Blade Runner franchise began with the 1982 film of the same name, directed by Ridley Scott (Alien) and loosely based on Philip K. Dick's 1968 novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?. Denis Villeneuve (Arrival) directed a sequel film—Blade Runner 2049—that premiered in 2017.

Shinichiro Watanabe wrote and directed a 15-minute original net anime at CygamesPicture in September 2017 that served as a prologue to Villeneuve's film.
