
The official website for the theatrical anime adaptation of Yoshiyuki Tomino and Haruhiko Mikimoto's Kidou Senshi Gundam: Senkou no Hathaway (Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash) novel revealed on Tuesday additional cast members. The first film in the trilogy is now scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 7 after its initial July 23 premiere was postponed due to COVID-19 last year.

Shukou Murase (Gyakusatsu Kikan) is helming the movies at Sunrise, with Yasuyuki Mutou (Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn) penning the script.
Pablo Uchida (Gundam: G no Reconguista design works), Naoyuki Onda (Shingeki no Bahamut), and Shigeki Kuhara (Escaflowne key animation) are designing the characters. Hiroyuki Sawano (Mobile Suit Gundam NT) is composing the music.
Tomino wrote the three-volume novel with illustration by Mikimoto under the Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint between February 1989 and April 1990. The film trilogy was announced in November 2018 as part of the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise's 40th anniversary.
