Kadokawa opened an official website for the television anime adaptation of Zappon's Shin no Nakama ja Nai to Yuusha no Party wo Oidasareta node, Henkyou de Slow Life suru Koto ni Shimashita (Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside) light novel on Wednesday, revealing the main staff, cast, and a teaser visual (pictured).

Zappon began penning the slice of life fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in October 2017. Kadokawa published the first volume under its Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko in June 2018, featuring illustrations by Yasumo and released the seventh volume on July 1. A prequel volume titled Episode.0 shipped on December 1.
Monthly Shounen Ace began serializing a manga adaptation by Masahiro Ikeno in May 2018. Kadokawa published the fifth volume scheduled on November 25 last year.
