
Aniplex opened an official website for a television anime based on Yasutaka Tsutsui's mystery novel Fugou Keiji (The Millionaire Detective) on Thursday. Titled Fugou Keiji Balance:Unlimited, the anime will premiere in April 2020 on Fuji TV's noitaminA programming block. The main cast, staff, a key visual (pictured), and a promotional video were also unveiled.
Synopsis
Daisuke Kanbe, a detective with extraordinary assets, is assigned to the Modern Crime Prevention Headquarters, where only those who have caused problems for the Metropolitan Police Department are sent. There, Daisuke is partnered with Haru Katou. Haru is repulsed by Daisuke's material ways, believing that money isn't everything. Challenging mysteries unfold in front of the two detectives, and they must work together to solve them.
Yuusuke Oonuki, a stage actor and dancer, lands his first anime voice acting role as Daisuke Kanbe. Veteran voice actor Mamoru Miyano (Chihayafuru) will play Haru Katou.

Fugou Keiji is a series of four short stories published by Shousetsu Shinchou between 1975 and 1977. Shinchosha published a combined volume of all four stories in May 1978. The novel has over 1.11 million copies in circulation. The story was adapted into a live-action TV drama in 2005.
