
The official website for the second season of Yakusoku no Neverland (The Promised Neverland) revealed two additional cast and a second commerical on Thursday. The new season will broadcast from January 8 at 1:25 a.m. on Fuji TV's noitaminA programming block, following the delay from its October 2020 premiere due to COVID-19.

The new cast will be joining Mariya Ise as Ray, Maaya Uchida as Norman, and Sumire Morohoshi as Emma, who are reprising their roles from the first season.
Yakusoku no Neverland adapts Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu's fantasy thriller manga, which began in Weekly Shounen Jump in August 2016 and ended its four-year serialization on June 15. Shueisha published the 20th and final volume on October 2. Yakusoku no Neverland has a cumulative 25 million copies of its volumes in print worldwide.
The 12-episode first season produced by CloverWorks aired in Winter 2019. Aniplex of America licensed and simulcast it on Crunchyroll, Funimation, Hulu, and HIDIVE. A live-action film adaptation will open in Japan on December 18, with a Western live-action by Amazon currently in development.

Update December 7
The official website of the second Yakusoku no Neverland (The Promised Neverland) season revealed a new key visual on Monday (pictured). Manga author Kaiu Shirai is joining Toshiya Oono (Subete ga F ni Naru, Houseki no Kuni (TV)) for the series composition in the new season.
Asuka Yokota (Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai, The iDOLM@STER SideM) is replacing Kazuko Nakashima as the color designer. Mizuho Kanda (22/7 3DCG, Sword Art Online: Alicization CG) is the new CG director, replacing You Fukuda. Rest of the production staff are returning from the first season at CloverWorks.
