The Tokyo 7th Sisters franchise is based on a fully-voiced idol smartphone game created by Shintarou Motegi and developed by Donuts. The film was announced during the sixth-anniversary celebration of the game with an intended Summer 2020 release, but was postponed on June 12 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
It is being directed by Takayuki Kitagawa (Yuyushiki episode director) at LandQ studios, with the script and music production by original creator Shintarou Motegi (T7S Longing for Summer Again and Again: Harukaze). The main staff were announced in full in April.
