Third Season of 'Kingdom' Announces New Production Staff


The official website of the third Kingdom anime season revealed the staff and a teaser visual (pictuted) on Monday. The new season will begin airing on the NHK-G channel in April 2020.

The third season will adapt the Gasshougun-hen (Coalition Army Arc), which spans from volumes 25–32. Masakazu Morita, Jun Fukuyama, and Rie Kugimiya are reprising their character roles as Li Xin (Li Shin), Ying Zheng (Ei Sei), and He Liao Diao (Karyou Ten). Yasuhisa Hara, the original creator, is supervising the new season.

Kingdom adapts Hara's historical military-themed manga series of the same name, which began its serialization in Weekly Young Jump in 2006. Shueisha published the 56th volume on November 19.

The first two anime seasons, produced by Studio Pierrot, ran for three cours each in Summer 2012 and 2013.
