The production committee of the Rail Romanesque short television anime revealed on Saturday that it will receive a second season. Rie Tanaka (Strike Witches) will join the cast in the new season as Kaniko.
Hisayoshi Hirasawa (Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki) is the director and sound director of the first season at animation studio Saetta. Kouichi Motomura is penning the script, and Takayuki Noguchi (Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine) is the character designer. The anime began airing on October 3 and is scheduled to end with episode 12 on December 19.
Rail Romanesque is based on Lose's Maitetsu adult visual novel, which was developed in March 2016. The game was later ported to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch under the title Maitetsu: Pure Station in July 2018 and January 16, respectively. Sekai Project released a censored version of the visual novel globally on Steam in June 2018.
Ame Kanro serialized a manga adaptation on Famitsu's Comic Clear website between December 2017 and January 2019. Kadokawa published the manga in two volumes in August 2018 and March 2019.
