The official website for GRIZZLY's theatrical anime adaptation of Kou Yoneda's Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai (Twittering Birds Never Fly) boys' love manga unveiled a promotional video on Saturday, which announced the lead cast members. The film will open in Japan in February 2020.
Tarusuke Shingaki (Bungou Stray Dogs 2nd Season) and Wataru Hatano (Yuri!!! on Ice) are reprising their roles as Yashiro and Doumeki Chikara, respectively, from the drama CDs produced by Frontier Works.
Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai is the first film under Fuji TV's Blue Lynx label, which primarily produce boys' love films. Kaori Makita (Banana Fish episode director) is directing the film with the script penned by Hiroshi Seko (Owari no Seraph). H Zettrio (Juushinki Pandora insert song arrangement) will create the music.
Yoneda's manga has been serializing in Taiyou Tosho's ihr hertZ magazine since March 2008. The sixth volume was released on May 1.
