The official Twitter account for Lerche's Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun (Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun) announced two new cast members on Monday. The theme song performers and a second promotional video featuring the opening theme were also revealed. The series is scheduled to premiere on TBS at 1:58 a.m. on January 10, 2020, followed by Sun, CBC, and BS-TBS.
Previously announced cast members include Megumi Ogata (Neon Genesis Evangelion) as Hanako-kun, Akari Kitou (Blend S) as Nene Yashiro, and Shoya Chiba (Tsuki ga Kirei) as Kou Minamoto.
The opening theme song, titled "No. 7," will be performed by Jibaku Shounen Band, a special unit formed for the anime consisting of Youji Ikuta, Masayoshi Ooishi, and ZiNG. Akari Kitou is performing the ending theme "Tiny Light."

Masaomi Andou (White Album 2) is directing the 12-episode TV anime adaptation of Iro Aida's supernatural comedy manga of the same title. Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen) is handling the script and series composition, and Mayuka Itou (Hakumei to Mikochi) is designing the characters.
Square Enix's monthly GFantasy magazine has been serializing the manga since 2014. The 11th volume was published on August 27, with the 12th volume scheduled for a December 27 release. Yen Press began publishing the series digitally in English in 2017 and released the ninth volume on January 29 this year.
