Television station TBS revealed the staff members and a key visual (pictured) for the previously announced Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun (Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun) television anime on Saturday. The anime series will premiere in 2020 on TBS, Sun, CBC, and BS-TBS stations.

The comedy supernatural manga by Iro Aida has been serialized in GFantasy since June 2014. Square Enix published the tenth volume on March 27, with the 11th volume planned for an August 27 release. Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun has a cumulative 1.6 million copies of its compiled volumes in print.
Yen Press licensed the manga in English in July 2017 for digital release and published the ninth volume on January 29.
