Japanese Rock Band NICO Touches the Walls Breaks Up



The official website for the Japanese rock band NICO Touches the Walls announced on Friday that they are disbanding after 15 years. Their group statement explained that they have cherished the past 15 years, and now they wish to go their separate ways.

The band formed in 2004 with vocalist and guitarist Tatsuya Mitsumura, guitarist Daisuke Furumura, bassist Shingo Sakakura, and drummer Shotaro Tsushima. In February 2006, they released their first independent mini album Walls Is Beginning, followed by second the mini album Runova X Handover published by Senha & co. in October of the same year.

The group's major debut came when they were signed under record label Kioon Music in 2007, and released their third mini album How Are You? in the same year. In March 2010, NICO Touches the Walls headlined a concert at Nippon Budokan for the first time. Their most recent album Quizmaster was released in June this year.

NICO Touches the Walls wrote and performed the openings and endings theme songs for several anime, including Naruto: Shippuuden, Haikyuu!!, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
