The Battle Athletess Daiundoukai (Battle Athletes Victory) franchise began with the serialization of Battle Athletes Daiundoukai by Yuuki Nakano, which ran in Dengeki Comic Gao! from May 1997 to November 2008. A six-episode original video animation (OVA) was released alongside the manga from May 1997 to June 1998. The OVA was followed by a 26-episode television anime that aired from October 1997 to March 1998.
