The 11th compiled volume of the supernatural comedy manga Fukigen na Mononokean (The Morose Mononokean), which went on sale on June 22, announced that its TV anime adaptation will receive a second season.
Fukigen na Mononokean's first anime adaptation aired in 2016 and was animated by Pierrot Plus. The studio will continue to produce the series for the second season, with Takao Yoshioka returning as the writer in charge of series composition. However, Itsurou Kawasaki (Bakumatsu Rock) will take over the role of director for the series.
Kiri Wazawa began drawing the manga series in 2013 for Square Enix's Gangan Online web manga platform. It is simultaneously published in English by Crunchyroll Manga.
