Seiyuu Yuka Imai Announces Retirement

Seiyuu Yuka Imai has announced her retirement on her blog on Thursday. She has not specified the reason for her retirement but stated that she would like to help support her family "at her own pace." She had hard time making this decision and that it was taken "for a better future." She also thanked everyone for the support.

Imai previously announced last May that she was taking a hiatus from voice acting to care for her three-year-old son, who was diagnosed with a PDD. She said that she would return after a "good foundation" was built for her son. She also divorced two months after the previous announcement because her husband was not being a reliable father for their son.

Imai's first seiyuu job was Yamarin from Kirameki Mori no Yanta-kun. Some of her notable roles are Yu Hayakawa from Final Fantasy: Unlimited, Rio Kinezono from the Burn Up series, Scarlet Ohara from Ai Tenshi Densetsu Wedding Peach, Chihiro Enomoto from Kujibiki Unbalance, and Tomochika Shibuya from the Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ anime series.
