Seiyuu Unshou Ishizuka Dies


Aoni Production has announced on Friday that seiyuu Unshou Ishizuka died on Monday from esophageal cancer. He was 68 years old.

Known for his deep and strong voice, Ishizuka was known to voice Heihachi Mishima from the Tekken game franchise as well as Yukinari "Professor Oak" Ookido and the narrator of the Pokemon franchise. Some of his other notable projects also include being the voice behind Mr. Satan from the Dragon Ball series, Kaguraba Raihou Gramstahl from Chaos Dragon: Sekiryuu Seneki, Sylvester Asimov from Terra Formars, Donovan Baine from Vampire Hunter, Jet Black from Cowboy Bebop, and more. He has voiced Dino Golzine from Banana Fish and Kane Ibrahim Hasan from Juushinki Pandora as well, both of which are currently airing. Additionally, he has narrated multiple anime series such as the 2016 adaptation of Berserk and Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online.
