The 24th issue of this year's Young Animal magazine has announced on Friday that Kentarou Miura's adventure fantasy manga Berserk will resume its serialization in the magazine's first 2018 issue on December 22. The manga went on hiatus earlier this year in June with plans to resume in the winter.
The series has been serialized in Young Animal since 1989, and its 39th and latest volume (pictured) was published by Hakusensha on June 23. The manga has received multiple anime adaptations, including a 25-episode TV anime in 1997 by studio OLM, a movie trilogy by Studio 4°C, and the most recent anime sequel by Millepensee and GEMBA, which ran for 12 episodes each in Summer 2016 and Spring 2017.
Dark Horse licensed the manga in English and published the 38th volume on July 18. Crunchyroll licensed the latest anime adaptation for North American distribution, and plans to release its first season in January 2018.
