Manga Authors Pen One-Shots for Shounen Jump's 50th Anniversary

The first 2018 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shounen Jump has announced on Monday that a number of notable manga authors who were serialized in the magazine will pen one-shots in commemoration of its 50th anniversary in 2018.

The second and third combined issue of the magazine will publish NisiOisiN (Medaka Box) and Mizuki Kawashita's (Ichigo 100%) one-shot titled Part Threes on December 11. The sixth issue will contain a one-shot by Naoshi Komi (Nisekoi) on January 4. The later 2018 issues of the magazine will include one-shots by Tite Kubo (Bleach), Kyousuke Usuta (Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoi yo! Masaru-san), Hiroshi Shiibashi (Nurarihyon no Mago), Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro (Toriko), and Ryuuhei Tamura (Beelzebub).

In addition, three novice authors will launch two new manga series in the magazine's upcoming issues. Ryouji Hirano will publish his Bozebeats manga in the seventh issue on January 15, while Tatsuya Matsuki and Shiro Usazaki will launch their Act-age manga in the eighth issue on January 22. Hirano published the Boze one-shot in the magazine last year on March 28. Matsuki and Usazaki published their Asagaya Geijutsu Koukou Eizou-ka e Youkoso one-shot in the magazine earlier this year on January 30.

The issue further revealed that Yoshihiro Togashi's Hunter x Hunter manga will resume its serialization in the magazine's ninth issue on January 29. The manga went on hiatus in September with plans to resume within this year.
