Light Novel Series 'Seishun Buta Yarou' Gets TV Anime Adaptation for Fall 2018



At the Dengeki Bunko 25th Anniversary stage event held today during Dengeki Game Festival, it was announced that the Seishun Buta Yarou light novel series will get a TV anime adaptation. The anime is slated to premiere in October 2018.

Written by Hajime Kamoshida with illustrations by Keiji Mizoguchi, the romantic comedy series has been published under the Dengeki Bunko imprint since April 2014. The series ranked seventh among new works in the 2015 Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! poll by publisher Takarajimasha. Seishun Buta Yarou currently has seven volumes in print, with the eighth volume to be published on April 10.

A manga adaptation drawn by Tsugumi Nanmiya has been serialized in Dengeki G's Comic magazine since November 2015. Its first volume went on sale in October 2016.

Synopsis
Puberty Syndrome—a rumored, mysterious syndrome that only affects those in their puberty. For example, a bunny girl suddenly appeared in front of Sakuta Azusagawa. The bunny girl's real identity is Mai Sakurajima, a teenage celebrity who is currently an inactive high school senior. For some reason, her charming figure does not reflect in the eyes of others. In the course of revealing the mystery behind this phenomenon, Sakuta begins to explore his feelings towards Mai. Set in a city where the skies and seas shine, Sakuta unfolds the meaning behind his bizarre encounters on women with the said syndrome.
