King of Prism' Series Receives 'Shiny Seven Stars' TV Anime and Summary Movies

The King of Prism anime series has announced a series of four movies under the title King of Prism: Shiny Seven Stars, whose first installment will open in theaters in the spring of 2019. The announcement was made on June 10 at the King of Prism Rose Party 2018 concert held at Arena Tachikawa Tachihi in Tokyo.

Each King of Prism: Shiny Seven Stars movie will have the approximate running time of three television episodes. All of these episodes will be aired together as a 12-episode television series. A teaser visual featuring series character Shin Ichijou (pictured) was also released.

Preliminary ticket sales for the movies also began on June 10 at the Shinjuku Wald 9 theater in Tokyo and other theaters throughout Japan. Two sets of four tickets, one for each movie, are being sold for 6,000 yen for each set. Customers who purchase tickets early will also receive an A5 clear file folder while supplies last.

PriPara series character designer Masaharu Hara will take over the role of King of Prism character designer from Mai Matsuura. Matsuura, however, will remain credited as original character designer.

Other staff and cast members from the previous two King of Prism movies will reprise their roles in the new production. King of Prism by Pretty Rhythm, released in 2016, earned a total of 800 million yen in the Japanese box office, while King of Prism: Pride the Hero earned 600 million yen in 2017.
