Broadcast of 'Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou' Postponed

The official website of White Fox's Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou (Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest) anime has announced on Monday that the broadcast of the series has been postponed to 2019 due to "various circumstances." The anime, to be directed by Jun Kamiya (Kingdom), was originally scheduled for an April 2018 premiere.

Publishing company Overlap has also announced that the planned release of the light novel's eighth volume will also be delayed by a month from March 25 to April 25 due to "various circumstances." The volume's special edition will bundle a second drama CD.

Written by Ryou Shirakome with illustrations by TakayaKi, Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou initially launched on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in November 2013, Overlap began publishing the novel's physical volumes in June 2015.

A manga adaptation drawn by RoGa has been serialized in Overlap's Comic Gardo manga website since February 2016, with its second compiled volume published in September 2017.

The first volume of Shirakome's prequel spin-off series Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou Zero was published last year on December 28, and a manga adaptation is scheduled to begin in Comic Gardo in 2018.

J-Novel Club has been publishing both the novel and the prequel spin-off digitally in English since February and December of last year, respectively, with the latter following a simultaneous publication with the Japanese release through the volumes' first parts. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the novel series and its manga adaptation for physical release, and plans to publish them beginning February and March, respectively.
