47th Japan Cartoonist Association Award Winners Announced


Winners of the 47th Japan Cartoonist Association Award has been announced. A ceremony for the winners to accept their respective rewards will be held on June 15 via the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. The panel of judges for this year includes Tetsuya Chiba, Ken Akamatsu, Riki Kusaka, and Kouji Yoshimoto.

Grand Award (Comic): Morohoshi Daijirou Gekijou by Daijirou Morohoshi
Grand Award (Cartoon): HITOKOMART by Yukio Shinohara
Excellence Award: Otouto no Otto by Gengorou Tagame
Special Award: Nihon Manga Exhibition by Nihon Manga no Kai   
Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award: All of Go Nagai's Works

The Japan Cartoonist Association Award is an award that is held annually and was established in 1972 by the Japan Cartoonist Association. Series such as 20th Century Boys, Shinya Shokudou, and Shizukanaru Don: Yakuza Side Story, to name a few, have previously won the grand award.
