An official website has launched for a live-action TV series of Homura Kawamoto and Tooru Naomura's Kakegurui (Kakegurui: Compulsive Gambler) manga on Wednesday. Tsutomu Hanabusa (Heroine Shikkaku, Asahinagu) will direct the TV drama, which is scheduled to air on Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS) and TBS' "Doramaism" (Dramaism) programming block on January 14, 2018 at 2:40 a.m. and January 16, 2018 at 1:28 a.m., respectively. Naomura has drawn a commemorative illustration (pictured) for the announcement.
Kakegurui has been serialized in Square Enix's Gangan Joker magazine since March 2014, and currently has eight compiled volumes in print, with the latest released on August 22. The series received a 12-episode TV anime in Summer 2017 by studio MAPPA. Yen Press licensed the manga for North American release, and published the third volume on November 21.
