An official website has opened for a TV anime titled Cheer Danshi!! (Cheer Boys), which will begin airing in July 2016. It adapts a 2013 novel written by Ryou Asai and published by Shueisha about a group of boys who take up cheerleading while in university. A manga adaptation drawn by Ayaka Matsumoto was published in Cookie and has four compiled volumes in print.
The anime adaptation was previously announced as an untitled project with original character designs by Hiroyuki Asada, who is the manga artist of Tegami Bachi.
