The official website for Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince has revealed new characters that will be featured in the sequel movie, as well as their respective cast members. Staff members were also announced. The movie is expected to premiere in Japanese theaters on November 4, 2016 and run for two weeks.

The sequel movie will feature an original story based on the Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince manga written by Rando Ayamine and drawn by Hikaru Niijima. The manga received a 24-episode anime adaptation by Doga Kobo for Summer 2013, airing for two cours. It is currently rebroadcasting two episodes every week, under the title Majestic Hour. A new epilogue episode is scheduled to air in September of this year.
