Shishou Series' TV Anime Planned for 2016


It was announced that the occult horror web novel Shishou Series will receive multiple adaptations in 2016. The first will be a live-action movie, followed by a TV anime and a live-action TV drama. Details of the anime and drama adaptations will be revealed at a later date.

Shishou Series was originally published on the 2channel board in 2003. It has been serialized as a manga series since the December 2013 issue of Young King OURs magazine. Futabasha has also been publishing the work as a light novel series since 2014. Both the manga and light novels have two volumes in print.

Actor Mahiro Takasugi (Kamen Rider Gaim) was cast as an "image character" to portray what the series protagonist would look like. In the story, the protagonist is a first-year university student who comes from the countryside. He meets an upperclassman whom he calls "Master" (Shishou), and the two investigate various urban legends and psychic phenomena.
