A scan of the upcoming issue of Monthly Comic Zenon magazine, to be released May 18, revealed that manga City Hunter will be receiving a new OVA adaptation. It will be bundled with the release of the new version of the manga, City Hunter XYZ Edition, on July 18. This announcement was made to commemorate the 30th anniversary of City Hunter. The OVA will promote the new animation and cast members.
Written and illustrated by Tsukasa Hojo, City Hunter began serialization in Weekly Shounen Jump magazine in 1985 until 1992. Shueisha published 35 volumes of the manga.
The manga previously received four TV anime adaptations, an anime movie, OVA, and specials.
