A scan from the November issue of Kodansha's Kiss magazine revealed that Akiko Higashimura's manga Kuragehime is heading toward its conclusion. The series resumed in July after being on a hiatus since October of last year.
Written and illustrated by Akiko Higashimura, the series has been serialized in Kiss magazine since 2008. It received an 11-episode TV anime adaptation by Brain's Base in 2010, as well as a live-action movie in 2014. The series also received a two-chapter manga prequel, both featured in last year's November and December issues. The manga won the shoujo category award in the 34th Kodansha Manga Awards in 2010. There are currently fifteen volumes in print.
Kodansha Comics USA has currently licensed 12 volumes of the manga for North American release, with the first two omnibus editions, containing two volumes each, to be released in February 2016. FUNimation Entertainment simulcasted the series in North America and released Blu-ray and DVDs of the anime adaptation on February 28, 2012.
