Theatrical and broadcast rights, as well as home video release and video on demand, for the upcoming Shingeki no Kyojin live-action movies have been acquired by FUNimation. These licenses include distribution rights for North, Central, and South America.
The live-action movies will be split into two parts: Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) and Shingeki no Kyojin: End of the World (Attack on Titan: End of the World). The world premiere of the first movie will take place in Los Angeles on July 14, hosted by FUNimation. Shingeki no Kyojin will premiere in theatres across Japan on August 1, and Shingeki no Kyojin: End of the World on September 19.
Sekai no Owari's Anti-Hero and SOS will be the theme songs of the first and second movies, respectively. The 2007-formed band's name translates to "End of the World."
The Shingeki no Kyojin manga, written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama, received its first anime adaptation for Spring 2013. Shingeki no Kyojin has since received two live-action movies, a live-action TV drama, two OVAs and several spin-offs, as well as an upcoming TV anime sequel.
