Joost withdraws from free video distribution.

Joost, established in 2007 and one of the pioneers within audio and video streaming, announced on the 30th of June that they would stop with offering free video distribution to the public. The reason for this was said to be the difficulty of making money from advertising and recent years competition with other providers like YouTube and Hulu. Among the titles that Joost Japan provided was animes like "Death Note", "Naruto" and "Slam Dunk" and an overall coverage of the top titles broadcasted in Japan.
At the same time Joost.com published news that they will make a reorganization and restructure of its business model to try and provide professional online video platforms for companies and cable and satellite providers.
